Vara Blanca, Heredia
Vara Blanca is a town in the canton of Heredia, an obligatory stop for those who visit the plains of Sarapiquí, for the bucolic and refreshing atmosphere that decorates the exquisite meals of local restaurants.
It is a community located 32 kilometers from the Juan Santamaría Airport, where it can be reached by two main routes: one, between Poás and Barva, two impressive colossi of the Central Volcanic Cordillera and another, by the Braulio Carrillo National Park .
Both roads are access roads to the north and Atlantic areas of the Costa Rican territory, of transcendental importance for the country’s economy.
What does Vara Blanca have in particular, besides the magnificent attention to travelers? The La Paz Waterfall, a magical place with 3.5 kilometers of trails, a hundred species of animals and not one, but five beautiful waterfalls.
