Los Mogos is a Costa Rican community that is scarcely mentioned and appreciated and yet it is like a window showing the existence of a magical world through which people travel by land to any point of the Osa Peninsula.
Los Mogos is a small town in the Sierpe district, Osa, with a school, a temple and an interesting touristic offer, just 20 kilometers away from Chacarita, where the road to Puerto Jiménez and the South Interamerican highway meet.
On the internet there is not even a definition for the term “mogos”; but the residents are clear: they are the islets covered with vegetation that can be seen on the surface of Golfo Dulce in the southwestern part of the Costa Rican territory.
An amazingly beautiful place
Arriving to Los Mogos make the visitors say “wow” when travel towards Puerto Jiménez for the first time.
Los Mogos can be reached from San José or Panama by asphalted road. The route to Puerto Jiménez can be drive through in any type of vehicle.
