Rafting

One of the uniqueness of the Costa Rican biosphere is that things are not so big, as to not be able to appreciate them, nor so small as to not be able to enjoy them. That’s right with the rivers.

In a continental territory of something less than 51 thousand km2, Costa Rica with 34 hydrographic basins, distributed in three slopes: the Caribbean Sea, the Pacific Ocean and the San Juan River. Everywhere there are rivers and many of them with rapids that delight adventure tourists.

Among the rivers best known to lovers of rafting are the Reventazón and the Pacuare, which drain into the Caribbean; the Balsa and Sarapiquí rivers, tributaries of the San Juan river and the Corobicí, Tenorio, Colorado, Naranjo, General rivers, which flow into the Pacific.

Each one has characteristics that differentiate them from the others, for example, due to the rainy season, the levels of demand, the flow, the greater or lesser access facilities, for the additional attractions of the environment and also for the services provided by each tour operator.  Of course, because most of Costa Rican rivers are mountain there are rapids to challenge and enjoy throughout the year.
