Junquillal this beach near the village of jonquil and is the perfect escape if you want to avoid monotony and bustle of other beaches. This beach is ideal if you want a quiet walk alone or with your partner and your sunsets are truly spectacular. Not the best beach for swimming because the water is harsh, but Junquillal Beach has some nice points for surfing and an estuary in the area. For those who prefer more action there are other activities such as horseback riding, fishing and snorkeling in the open sea.
Often called the best province to keep secrets, Junquillal Beach is a pristine beach with spectacular surroundings. If you are the type who likes the outdoors, camping under the stars is a fun option. You can also rent a mountain bike and observe the beautiful scenery or take a ride along the beach strip. Observe monkeys, turtles and a variety of butterflies and birds that live in this area. There is much to explore including the dry tropical forest that can be explored on foot or if you get bored, enjoy a diving or fishing is also an option.
You can make a trip to the nearby Playa Negra Playa Avellanes or where there are excellent opportunities for surfing or visit the Leatherback National Marine Park of Guanacaste, a national park which is just north of Tamarindo. If you are on a holiday to get away from it all ready, this beach is ideal as it is removed easily accessible but at the same time.
