The Volcano Sandbank is the most active of the country
With an extension of 12000 hectares, this National Park, created in 1994, takes the Volcano Sandbank as a center, known until 1968 as It Closed Sandbank. A colossus of 1600 m high and one of the most active of the world, with regular eruptions, is a sight that you cannot lose.
The nights on the foot of the volcano are a miscellany of color, fire and emotion without comparison. The lava of the Volcano with an almost perfect conical form, is going to produce in you a feeling practically impossible to compare.
Located in what the park is known as the " energy Heart of Costa Rica " it lodges an important quantity of flora and fauna for the region. Animals changed as deer, jaguares, dantas, pizotes, boas, colibríes and up to female parrots; without leaving of side plants of diverse types, from ferns up to the most beautiful orchids.
