Passengers traveling on a Boeing 777-300
The renowned airline Air France will fly directly between Costa Rica and France.
The announcement was made this morning by the Costa Rican Tourism Institute (ICT).
The airline will start operations from November 2 this year with two weekly flights.
Passengers will travel on a Boeing 777-300, with a capacity for 468 seats. Of these, 14 in Business, 32 in Premium Economy and 422 in Economy.
The flights will be operated on Wednesdays and Saturdays departing from Paris.
The AF430 will leave Paris-Charles de Gaulle at 1:45 p. m. and arrive at Juan Santamaria International Airport in San Jose at 6:10 p. m. the same day.
To France, AF431 flight will leave San Jose Juan Santamaria Airport at 8:40 p. m. and will arrive at Paris-Charles de Gaulle at 1:50 p. m. the next day.
Tourism Minister, Mauricio Ventura described the connection as a historical fact, as the country has three direct flights to Europe in less than a year.
Ventura stressed that Costa Rica has direct connections with England, Germany, United Kingdom and France.
Tourism Minister stressed that Air France will operate flights connect several that the company has in certain parts of Europe.
In 2015, about 300,000 Europeans entered the country by air, this generated an increase of 6.8% compared with 2014.
In addition, 90% of French who entered Costa Rica did by air, for a total of 47,227 international arrivals, a growth of 9.6% compared to 2014.
