Themes promise an “inclusive” artistic programming

Communities like Rio Claro, Conte, Ciudad Cortés, Palmar, Rey Curre, San Vito, La Cuesta-Laurel and Agua Buena -all belonging to the south-south zone of the country, will act as sub-venues of the event.

"National festivals are an opportunity to show the artistic diversity of Costa Rica and the south is a place where we can recognize each one of us," said Sylvie Duran, Minister of Culture.

"It’s an artistic program designed to give an opportunity to exchange recognition as a nation who are all our artists," added the minister.

Activities in the subsites will be part of the so called Route of the Arts, which will bring a good part of the event program.

Delegations of artists, which includes teatreros as traditional dancers and clowns, among others, will visit these communities with assemblies to be announced as the event dates approach.

In addition, the Center for Arts and Cultural Production (CPAC), said that the event will establish an inclusive programming, through various themes: migrant populations, universal accessibility, gender equality, rights of indigenous communities, elderly, youth and childhood.
