Panama wants to take advantage of its natural parks and exploit ecotourism, as it has done its neighbor Costa Rica, one of the world’s greatest exponents of green tourism, acknowledged Thursday Environment Minister, Mirei Endara.

"We have not taken our (natural) wealth of the way we have done our neighbors. We want to ride on that trend, "the hierarch acknowledged in a press conference.

The Ministry of Environment of Panama on Thursday presented a plan of action to develop green tourism in some of the more than one hundred protected areas in the country, like Coiba National Park and the Volcan Baru National Park, point from where you can see the Caribbean sea and the Pacific ocean.

41% of travelers said he visited volcanoes, 38% did hiking trails, while 15% reported that practiced snorkeling.
