Alaska, southwest and thomson made opening services
The new routes connect the Juan Santamaria to Liberia with Los Angeles, United States, Houston and Baltimore Liberia and Liberia with Gatwick, England
Alaska, Thomson Airways and Southwest Airlines inaugurated between Saturday and Monday November 2 new services to offer airlines to travel to Costa Rica and to get from here to destinations with lots of connections.
17 airlines currently fly to Juan Santamaria International Airport, offering direct connections with regular flights to 46 destinations around the world. Meanwhile, 10 airlines flying to Daniel Oduber Quiros International Airport, which facilitates the implementation of regular flights to 24 destinations worldwide. Our country offers flight connections to 70 destinations worldwide.
According to a report by the Costa Rican Tourism Institute (ICT), an entity that is responsible for attracting new lines or expanding areas in the services already, Alaska Airlines, inaugurated its official flights to Costa Rica. The airline will fly four times a week on the route Los Angeles-San Jose, from 31 October, and four times weekly on the route Los Angeles-Liberia, Guanacaste, from November 1 respectively.
To this is added the US Southwest Airlines selected our country as the first destination of Central America, which opened the Houston-Liberia connection. It is a daily flight from November 2, in a 737-700 aircraft, with seating for 143 passengers.

In addition, Thomson Airways will open its first weekly flight at Gatwick-Liberia route, from Monday November 2, the ICT said. This operation is performed on a B 787-800 Dreamliner, a very modern and large aircraft will arrive first to Costa Rica, with capacity for 291 passengers and the flight frequency will be once a week from Gatwick, highlighted the Institute said in a statement.

Mauricio Ventura, Minister of Tourism said that the dynamism in the arrival of airlines is reflected positively in both airports, due to the implementation of the strategy to attract companies that was conceived in the ICT and through working together with dealers airports and advisers airlines, is aiming to achieve that most airlines bet on our country, increase their frequencies and incorporate new connections to priority destinations for Costa Rica.
