Foreign exchange earnings from tourism continued to grow apace in the second quarter of this year (April, May and June).
According to data from the quarterly balance of payments (which contains the transactions of the country with the rest of the world), published by the Central Bank last Friday in the second quarter of this year, exports of travel, as it is called that category, increased by 14.5% over the same period last year.
It is the third consecutive quarter with growth exceeding 14%.
In absolute amounts were $ 857 million tourism revenue received in the second quarter.

“Very positive, this sector is one of the first to recover after the crisis and very successfully, these years have been good,” said Heriberto Pablo Abarca, president of the National Chamber of Tourism.
