In the 2014, four new routes areas have been registered to connect cities in the us with the international airport Juan Santamaria in Alajuela, and Daniel Oduber in Liberia.

The flights to and from Boston, Baltimore, Houston and Newark will come into operation by means of different companies between the 1 November 2014 and on 7 March 2015. 
The Costa Rican Tourism Institute (ICT) announced yesterday a route between Liberia and Boston via the JetBlue airline. This, after the end of the Fair World International Routes, which brought together various airlines since the 20 September in Chicago, USA. UU. 
However, the entity had already advanced, last May, that the flight test operations would begin from 1 November this year. 
Currently, 26 companies offer regular service in Costa Rica. 
Another of the new routes is to communicate to Baltimore with San Jose. The company will manage the Southwest Airlines as of March 7 of next year. 
"We’re ready to add the adventure and the beauty of Costa Rica to a horizon of increasing international possibilities," said Gary Kelly, president of the airline, on the day of the announcement. 
For its part, at the end of this year, United Airlines will make available more flights from San Jose toward Houston and Newark. 
Alejandro Castro, deputy manager and marketing director of the ICT, explained that implemented a series of tasks with the aim of ensuring the increased frequencies, new flights and the attraction of airlines from all major tourist generating markets. 
These actions are find trading partners (tour operators or airlines), perform cooperative campaigns with wholesale partners and attend international tourism fairs.
