This is a large beach, with dark sand, blue waters and moderate waves. Adjacent to the beautiful mouth of the Barú River and tributary of the Hacienda Barú Nature Reserve. Thanks to its cleanliness and the efforts of the inhabitants to protect the environment, this beach has been awarded for many consecutive years with the ecological blue flag.

Surrounded by virgin forests, Playa Barú is also a sanctuary where different species of sea turtles come to spawn. The environment is calm, relaxing, and ideal for ecological tourism.
